Remember “Moneyball”, the book by Michael Lewis? Maybe not, but you certainly remember “Moneyball”, the movie based on the very same book, with Brad Pitt being a general manager of the baseball team trying to come up with a winning squad of players on a tight budget.

I don’t want to spoil it for you, but he thinks putting analytics to work can help him find overseen players that could actually perform very well without costing a fortune.

We saw the method many times, especially in the stock market arena, where people would use statistical indicators to find “underdog” perceived companies — cheap, but good, with great potential.

It worked out well for the coach in Moneyball. So it did for many others,

and it didn’t for some as well, but that is not that important.
